Winter's here

We had a frost this morning, which is fitting, as it is the first day of winter.

It was so beautiful...

I got a bit carried away with the camera..

It warmed up as the day wore on, and was a magnificent afternoon:

The dogs spent the whole afternoon barking up at a possum in the weeping elm

while I raked..

I went to the Von Guerard exhibition in Melbourne yesterday.  I can't use any of the images but it is at the Ian Potter Centre at Federation Square.  It is a wonderful exhibition from the brilliant colonial landscape artist who painted many works around western Victoria where we live.  The familiarity with the subject matter gives them a special resonance.  If you live in Melbourne or western Victoria do not miss it, it is a great snapshot of our colonial history.
